Foire aux questions - Campeurs

1. Where will I be sleeping?

In one of the 6 dorms with your counsellor. Each dorm usually has 5 counsellors and thirty children each.

2. Will I get to sleep near my friends?

If you have the same counsellor (which requires that you be of the same age and gender), yes.

3. What if it gets cold at night?

Usually a sleeping bag is more than adequate but we also have extra blankets or you can bring your own.

4. Where do I go to the bathroom?

We use chemical toilets close to all the locations. They are cleaned everyday. It's all part of the camping life! We have individual showers and hot water too!

5. What if I have to get up in the night to go to the bathroom?

There is a toilet beside each dorm and night lights.

6. What if I don't like the food?

Since there is always soup, salad and bread as well as the main course you can always eat even if you don't particularly like a certain meal. There are also 3 snacks a day of juice and fruit. Please note that no candies may be brought for the stay.

7. What should I not bring?

You should not bring any knives, cell phones, cigarettes, matches, drugs or snacks.

8. What if I forget to pack something?

Try to follow the list that is sent to you. However if you do forget something important we can contact your parents to send it by mail.

9. What do I do if I miss my parents?

This is normal and can happen to anyone. Try to involve yourself in the activities and write a daily journal so that you will be able to share your experience with them when you get back.

10. How can I contact my parents?

You can write to them and mail your letters as often as you want. However there is no e-mail nor fax available for participants. Only parents can use the phone to ask the director for an update, if need be.

11. How can my parents contact me?

They can send you letters or e-mails.

12. What if it's my birthday while I am with you?

Your counsellor will most certainly make a point of having a special day lined up for you!

13. What if I only know a few words of English?

The staff will help you by speaking slowly and using a lot of body language. If you make a good effort you'll see, it'll get much easier as the days go by! And remember the teachers are there to explain the language to you and the counsellors are there to help you have FUN in English!

14. What will my English classes be like?

You will have two classes every morning with your teacher for verbs and vocabulary. The classes are given according to your level. There are a lot of games to make it fun!

15. What happens if I don't speak enough in English?

If you are in 6-8 group the counsellor will give you the correct English words. However, if you are 9 and over the first time the counsellor will help you with the words, the second time you might lose points in your game or time of an activity;if there is a third time you might have to speak with one of the directors. Remember though that all members of the AngloFun Team want to help you, and make English, Fun!
