FAQ – Campers

We send you a list of important items to bring to help you out, but if you do forget something very important, we can contact your parents so they can them mail it to you.

Where will I sleep?

In one of the dormitories, supervised by your counsellor.

Will I be able to sleep with my friends?

If you’re in the same group, you will have the same counsellor so yes, of course!

What if it’s cold at night?

A sleeping bag is usually quite sufficient to keep you warm but there are extra blankets available for the really chilly nights, or you can bring your own.

Where are the washrooms?

In your dormitory. There are individual shower stalls and hot water.

Are there objects I am not allowed to bring to camp?

No knives, sweets, cellphones, cigarettes, matches or drugs will be tolerated.

What happens if I forget to bring something?

We send you a list of important items to bring to help you out, but if you do forget something very important, we can contact your parents so they can them mail it to you.

What happens if I get homesick?

It’s normal to get homesick the first few days. Try to participate in the activities and meet new friends. You can even keep a diary so you can share your experience once you’re back home.

Can I communicate with my parents?

You can write and post your letters as often as you wish. Unfortunately, there is no email or fax machine available to campers. Parents may call camp management, if they need to. AngloFun camp is the perfect place for you to enjoy a vacation with friends and practice your English, of course!

How can my parents reach me?

They can write to you too or, if they really need to, email or call us.

What if my birthday is during camp?

Your counsellor will certainly know how to highlight this very special day for you!

What if I know only a few words in English?

Our staff is used to that, and they speak slowly and use lots of gestures so you can understand. With a little bit of effort, you’ll see that English will become easier for you every day. Remember the teachers and counsellors are there to make sure that you have fun, even in English!

How do the English lessons work?

There will be two educational workshops each morning, on different subjects, aimed at improving your English conversation skills through games and songs and activities and lots of fun!

What if I don’t speak English at all?

If you don’t know how to name something, your counsellor will teach you the correct word so you can repeat it. Consider it a game: speak anything else than English a second time, and you might lose points or skip your turn! It will be quite a challenge but remember: We are here to help you learn and to prove to you that English = Fun!
